Project Manager (Full Time)

Oak Construction Company Inc. is a General Contracting firm based in Fort Lauderdale, FL., offering a full range of construction services seeking an experienced construction project manager with commercial retail experience. As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and directing the construction for different large commercial clients. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge and experience that will permit them to manage the entire construction process, including but not limited to pre-development planning, scheduling, logistics, cost management, financial reporting, and construction operations. Additionally, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors and in-house teams.

Education, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management role.
  • Success in all phases of major new construction, renovation, and interior fit-out projects
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
    Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, combined with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in project management software
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgets.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal lots.
  • Manage the scope review, bid and award process.
  • Negotiate all change orders.
  • Manage the permit process as required.
  • Manage and update the project budget.
  • Hold regular status meetings with project team.
  • Lead communications with on-site staff including the Superintendent and Subcontractors
  • Proactively identify design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other project specific issues
  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to deliver quality through attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and still be proactive and resourceful
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally to obtain information or solve problems in support of company goals
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment and to adapt to changes in the needs of the company to ensure competitive advantage

Project Superintendent (Full Time)

Oak Construction Company Inc. is a General Contracting firm based in Fort Lauderdale, FL., seeking an experienced project superintendent with new construction and remodeling commercial retail experience. Experience with grocery stores is a plus. As a Project Superintendent you will lead field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and of exceptional quality. The Project Superintendent has ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day onsite management of the project. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in overseeing Commercial construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Education, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Superintendent.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to finish.
  • Must have or acquire a 30 hour OSHA card within 30 days of hire
  • Must be Drug Free
  • In-depth knowledge of Construction Software and other project management tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate a diverse team of professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors along the critical path to ensure timely project completion.
  • Analyzes blueprints and design plans for in-depth knowledge of project scope.
  • Execute quality control duties and responsibilities to ensure the work being performed meets established standards.
  • Enforce safety protocols to ensure job site consistently meets or exceeds OSHA safety standards
  • Monitor project progress, schedule adherence, and facilitate communication with the project team regarding RFI’s and Material Submittals using the
  • Procore Construction Software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project software for scheduling and managing project timelines.
  • Ensure subcontractors fully adhere to and execute their contracted scope of work.
  • Coordinate necessary inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Identify and address subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Recognize and communicate conflicts in construction progress to the project team for resolution.
  • Verify that subcontractors promptly address all deficiencies identified by the project team.
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily log of on-site activities, supplemented by weekly photographic documentation of job sites to visually demonstrate progress.

Financial Administrative Assistant (Full Time)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive financial administrative assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring smooth financial processes, accurate recordkeeping, and effective administrative coordination.

  • Support both Accounting and Administrative teams
  • Enter financial data, invoices, and receipts into accounting software with precision and timeliness
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date digital and physical records
  • Assist with tracking and reconciling project-related expenses
  • Gather required documentation for monthly draw packages
  • Monitor funding schedules and ensure timely submission to avoid project delays
  • Assist with compiling reports for project costs, budgets, and financial summaries
  • Support month-end closing activities as needed
  • Help ensure compliance with internal controls and funding requirements
  • Use accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) for data entry
  • Maintain financial tracking Platforms
  • Support document management in shared drives or project management tools

Preferred Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in business, accounting, or comparable field or 2+ years of experience in financial administration, preferably in construction.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial metrics.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
